Pumpkin Memorial Scarf (Yellow) framed print | Yayoi Kusama Framed Print | Yayoi Kusama Prints

Pumpkin Memorial Scarf (Yellow) framed print by Yayoi Kusama — Pumpkin Memorial Scarf (Yellow) belongs to a scarf-related treatment of Kusama’s favorite gourd. The yellow version should be understood alongside, but not confused with, the red counterpart.

The yellow counterpart to a textile-inspired design

MyArtBroker identifies a yellow Memorial Scarf version alongside the red one. It illustrates the way Kusama’s recurring pumpkins belong to a wider practice that includes design, prints and objects.

A yellow variation of the scarf-related motif

The scarf-related treatment uses the pumpkin as a decorative motif that can be carried beyond a conventional framed picture.

This yellow version presents the scarf-related pumpkin idea in the color that has become Kusama's most immediately recognised. As a counterpart to the red version, it demonstrates how color can distinguish otherwise related designs. The surrounding idea of fabric is significant: pattern is something that can cover a surface, move around a body or occupy a wall, linking the everyday and the artistic.

About Pumpkin Memorial Scarf (Yellow): Artwork Questions

Should Red and Yellow scarf versions be treated as one item?
No. Their titles specify separate colorways. Keeping them distinct helps customers select the particular design they want and avoids mixing two image files under one description.
