Mt. Fuji in Seven Colours: Mt. Fuji I Love poster by Yayoi Kusama — Mt. Fuji in Seven Colours: Mt. Fuji I Love is Kusama’s red interpretation of the celebrated Japanese mountain. The emphatic red treatment matches the declaration of affection in the title.

Fuji viewed through red and poetry

The monumental silhouette is retained, but the red treatment changes the landscape’s emotional temperature and encourages attention to the relationship between a familiar place and an intimate thought.

Artwork Background and Meaning

The 2015 series was produced with the Adachi Institute using a traditional woodcut process. Each print is paired with Kusama’s poetic language, making it both an image of Mount Fuji and a meditation on existence.
