Flower AZ framed print | Yayoi Kusama Framed Print | Yayoi Kusama Prints

Flower AZ framed print by Yayoi Kusama — A vase holds an exuberant arrangement of branching, elongated floral forms, while repeated dots animate both the vessel and its surroundings. The monochrome contrasts give the botanical image an almost electric sense of movement.

A floral still life that will not stay still

Flower AZ is documented as a 1993 screenprint in Kusama’s catalogue. Its arrangement of blooms, dotted surfaces and patterned backdrop turns a traditional still life into a field of restless energy.

Botanical memories and restless forms

Flowers and growing things were part of Kusama’s world from childhood. In her prints, an everyday natural subject can become a system of repeated lines, petals and dots, joining close observation of plants to abstraction.
