The Flowering Shinano Road canvas print by Yayoi Kusama — The title evokes a road bordered or transformed by blossoms, bringing a sense of place into Kusama’s botanical imagination. It is an invitation to think about a journey marked by growth and seasonal change.

Botanical memories and restless forms

Flowers and growing things were part of Kusama’s world from childhood. In her prints, an everyday natural subject can become a system of repeated lines, petals and dots, joining close observation of plants to abstraction.
