Rain in the Evening Glow canvas print | Yayoi Kusama Canvas Print | Yayoi Kusama Prints

Rain in the Evening Glow canvas print by Yayoi Kusama — A rich red field is filled with black, twisting net-like marks, creating a surface that flickers between atmosphere and abstraction. There is no literal horizon; the pattern itself conveys the sensation of rain meeting fading light.

The weather imagined as an infinite net

Kusama’s 1992 Rain in the Evening Glow belongs to her wider exploration of nets and natural phenomena. The title lets the repeated gestures suggest weather while the all-over composition refuses conventional landscape perspective.

Nature as an endless visual rhythm

Weather, moving water and natural landscapes offer Kusama a rich vocabulary of repetition. Net-like lines and accumulating marks can suggest a phenomenon that changes constantly while remaining recognizable.
