Pumpkin (RSQ) poster by Yayoi Kusama explores a separate pumpkin design catalogued with the RSQ abbreviation. Inspired by the recognizable visual imagination of the Japanese contemporary artist, this poster creates an individual focal point for an art-led interior.

About the Artwork: Meaning & Analysis

RSQ appears as an individually identified variant in auction records, showing how Kusama continuously reworks a beloved motif rather than relying on a single fixed pumpkin design.

Visual Character and Composition

The squat outline, stem and striped rib structure offer the familiar pumpkin figure, while a patterned treatment gives the image Kusama’s characteristic energy. The composition rewards a slower look at how the recognizable subject, its repeated forms and the negative space relate to one another.
