Pumpkin Army (Green) poster by Yayoi Kusama — Pumpkin Army (green) turns a single familiar vegetable into a collective presence. The title suggests a gathering or procession of gourds, making multiplication itself the focus of the work.

Assembled pumpkins in green

The green version draws attention to the repeated pumpkin motif as an organized group, offering a different effect from Kusama’s more intimate portraits of one pumpkin.

Artwork Background and Meaning

The artist’s pumpkin imagery balances affection, humor and repetition. By grouping pumpkins together, Pumpkin Army extends that language from one character-like object to a rhythmic ensemble.

Display Ideas

Its familiar subject makes a lively focal point above a console, in a creative dining area or beside other graphic still-life prints.
