Fuji viewed through yellow and poetry

The monumental silhouette is retained, but the yellow treatment changes the landscape’s emotional temperature and encourages attention to the relationship between a familiar place and an intimate thought.

Artwork Background and Meaning

The 2015 series was produced with the Adachi Institute using a traditional woodcut process. Each print is paired with Kusama’s poetic language, making it both an image of Mount Fuji and a meditation on existence.
