Lemon Squash (3) framed print | Yayoi Kusama Framed Print | Yayoi Kusama Prints

Lemon Squash (3) framed print by Yayoi Kusama — This third Lemon Squash image returns to the refreshing drink as a still-life subject, but the numbered title identifies a separate variant. A familiar glass becomes a support for Kusama’s rhythmic surface decoration.

Another way to see a familiar drink

Across the Lemon Squash prints, she turns the everyday act of drinking into a playful interaction between liquid, vessel, circular motifs and repeated patterns.

Ordinary things, extraordinary surfaces

Fruit, drink and tableware make striking partners for Kusama’s repeated patterns. The combination of a recognizable everyday subject with dense graphic decoration is central to the charm and complexity of her printmaking.
