Infinity Nets (TW) canvas print | Yayoi Kusama Canvas Print | Yayoi Kusama Prints

Infinity Nets (TW) canvas print by Yayoi Kusama — The letter code TW identifies a specific Infinity Nets work. Its visual interest lies in the dense texture of repeated net-like marks and the difficulty of finding a clear beginning or end.

A net with its own rhythm

Kusama’s nets turn a painstaking repeated gesture into a vision of expansiveness. The title code preserves this design’s individual identity instead of reducing it to a generic net pattern.

Inside the Infinity Nets

Kusama’s first monumental Infinity Net paintings appeared in New York at the end of the 1950s. Building a continuous surface from tiny repeated gestures, she challenged conventional approaches to abstract painting and opened up an expansive sense of time and space.
