Flowers [Kusama 77] canvas print | Yayoi Kusama Canvas Print | Yayoi Kusama Prints

Flowers [Kusama 77] canvas print by Yayoi Kusama — A numbered floral composition such as Flowers [Kusama 77] invites a closer look at the role of outline, pattern and spacing. A familiar bloom can become an unexpected landscape of marks.

A flower becomes a patterned landscape

Kusama’s flower subjects connect memories of growing up among plants with a persistent desire to repeat and transform the things she observed.

Botanical memories and restless forms

Flowers and growing things were part of Kusama’s world from childhood. In her prints, an everyday natural subject can become a system of repeated lines, petals and dots, joining close observation of plants to abstraction.
