Flower BH framed print by Yayoi Kusama — In Flower BH, the botanical subject becomes a structure for repetition. Petals, stems and surrounding marks can be read as parts of the same visual rhythm rather than a strict division between figure and background.

Another language of flowering

This is identified in catalogues as a 1993 Kusama screenprint, separate from Flower AZ. The designation BH matters: it is an individual variation rather than simply another generic flower poster.

Botanical memories and restless forms

Flowers and growing things were part of Kusama’s world from childhood. In her prints, an everyday natural subject can become a system of repeated lines, petals and dots, joining close observation of plants to abstraction.
