It is a less expected doorway into the artist’s fascination with living forms.

A reptile enters Kusama’s imaginative world

Kusama’s animal and natural subjects remind us that her printmaking reaches far beyond pumpkins and dots. A lizard becomes another vehicle for curiosity about the strange forms of living things.

A reptile with an unfamiliar rhythm

The reptile’s elongated shape and distinctive body provide a recognizable subject that can be transformed by playful pattern and line.

A lizard's elongated body and distinctive outline offer a departure from Kusama's round pumpkins and flower heads. This subject introduces direction, movement and the irregularity of a living creature into the artist's graphic vocabulary. As with her other animal images, the recognisable form provides an anchor while the surrounding design can push the image toward imaginative transformation.

Framed Print Materials & Details

Our sturdy, durable wooden framed posters come ready to hang. Those differences change how the viewer follows the image across the page.

Explore more of the artist’s work in our Yayoi Kusama posters and Yayoi Kusama canvas prints collections.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0813/0101/2711/files/887c5caf-ec92-4cbe-8c09-01ef3aff09a8.jpg?v=1793061298
https://yayoikusamaprint.com/products/lizard-framed-print-yayoi-kusama-framed-print-yayoi-kusama-prints
